Audit Your Life: Clearing the Noise to Hear God’s Voice

Blog 2 · CALLED™ Series · A = Audit Your Life-
When life feels chaotic, it’s hard to hear God clearly. Noise piles up from every direction. Work, social media, family demands, and even our own thoughts can drown out His whisper. That’s why the second step in the CALLED™ Framework is so important. Before you can follow God’s direction, you have to audit your life.
The Time I Couldn’t Hear Him
I remember begging God for clarity but feeling like I was getting nothing in return. My prayers felt like they hit the ceiling. My mind was spinning with ideas, but I didn’t know which ones came from Him and which ones were just me.
It wasn’t until I slowed down to take inventory that I realized what was happening. My schedule was stuffed, my attention was scattered, and my spirit was tired. No wonder I couldn’t hear Him.
Psalm 139:23–24 became my prayer:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Why Auditing Matters
An audit clears the clutter. It helps you identify what’s draining your energy and what’s distracting you from God’s presence. When you strip away the noise, you make space for His voice.

Start with Psalm 139:23–24 at the top of the page. -
Pray It Out
In My Prayers for Today, ask God to shine a light on the things in your life that are pulling you away from Him. -
Make Your List
In the How can I apply this scripture to my life? section, write down two lists:-
What gives me life and draws me closer to God?
-
What drains me and pulls me away from Him?
-
-
Reflect
At the end of the week, use the Reflections section. Did you make changes? Did you notice more clarity in God’s direction once the clutter was cleared?
What I’ve Learned
Every time I skip this step, I fall back into overwhelm. But when I stop to audit my life, I hear God more clearly. Peace doesn’t come from adding more to my schedule. It comes from cutting away what doesn’t belong.
