Launch with Purpose: Taking the Step God Calls You To

Blog 4 · CALLED™ Series · L = Launch with Purpose-
Once you’ve slowed down enough to hear God’s whisper, the next step is simple but not always easy. Will you actually move on it? For years, this was where I stalled. I loved hearing from God, but when it came time to take the first step, I froze.
Maybe you’ve been there too. You know what God said, but the step feels too small to matter or too scary to take. That’s why this part of the framework is called Launch with Purpose.
The Time I Waited Too Long
I remember when God nudged me to start a new podcast. I had the journal notes, the microphone, and the ideas. But I also had a thousand excuses. The timing isn’t right. I don’t have the right setup. I’ll do it when I have more money, more clarity, more confidence.
Meanwhile, the people who needed encouragement weren’t hearing what God had already put in me to share. Waiting felt safe, but it was really disobedience dressed up as perfectionism.
When I finally hit “record,” the first episode wasn’t polished. My voice cracked. I stumbled over words. But God used it anyway. That’s the power of a purposeful launch.
What Launching With Purpose Really Means
Proverbs 16:3 says:
“Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
Launching with purpose isn’t about being flashy or perfect. It’s about committing what you have right now into God’s hands. He doesn’t ask for polish. He asks for obedience.
Why Small Starts Still Matter
-
God multiplies faithfulness, not size.
-
Obedience in the small prepares you for the greater.
-
Your first step creates momentum that fear cannot hold back.
Don’t despise the day of small beginnings. If God told you to move, the small step is already loaded with His purpose.
Journal Exercise: Use Your Faith & Focus Bible Journal
Open your Faith & Focus Bible Journal to the Bible Study Worksheet section. This is where you’ll work out your launch with God this week.
-
Write the Whisper
In the Passage/Date line, write down one assignment or nudge you’ve recently sensed from God. -
Pray It Through
In the My Prayers for Today box, pour out your honest fears and hesitations about starting. Ask God for courage to move. -
Break It Down
Under How can I apply this scripture to my life?, write three tiny launch steps you could take this week. Keep them realistic and clear. -
Reflect on It
At the end of the week, go to the Reflections section. What happened when you took the step? Did God confirm, redirect, or multiply it?
These journal pages are more than notes. They become a record of your obedience and the story God is writing through you.
What I’ve Learned
Every big thing I’ve done started as a small, shaky step. The podcast. The framework. Even this journal. None of them looked perfect when they launched, but all of them carried purpose because God was in them.
What’s Next in the CALLED™ Series
Today we focused on L = Launch with Purpose. Next, we’ll move into E = Empower with a Kingdom Mindset. Because once you start moving, your actions and your mindset will both need to be aligned with God’s truth.
Keep your Faith & Focus Bible Journal handy. The same pages you used to capture your first launch steps will help you record the shift in your thinking as you step into Kingdom alignment.
We’re Launching Together
You don’t have to wait for perfect. You just need to move with purpose. So write the assignment, pray it through, take the first step, and watch God do what only He can do with your obedience.
